A Taste of History...
The Wayside Inn was built in 1825 as a four-room homestead for John Pierce, Jr., nephew of Franklin Pierce, fourteenth President of the United States. At the turn of the century, the home was enlarged and has operated as a country inn ever since. In 1968, the motel was built to accommodate an increasing number of guests.
