The Candlelite Inn was built in 1897 by Charles Gillis as a guest home. It has entertained generations of New Hampshire visitors throughout the years and was voted the 2001 Inn of the Year by the readers of Pamela Lanier's travel guide, The Complete Guide to Bed & Breakfasts, Inns & Guesthouses. This fine Victorian structure shows graceful detail, such as the gazebo porch that is perfect for sipping lemonade on a lazy summer day and the parlor that can warm a winter afternoon with its warm cozy fire. The parlor invites guests to sit with a hot cup of apple cider and relax with a good book while the snow falls.
The Candlelite Inn has four luxurious and individually decorated rooms and two mini-suites. Each room is complete with a queen-size bed and private bath. Throughout the Inn you will see many fine crafts, such as quilts on the beds and walls, cross-stitch pillows and pictures, and tole painting on wall hangings and table top decorations.
