Full Description:
The Chief Hosa Lodge and Campground is a national historic site only 15 minutes west of Denver?s city limits. The lodge operates year-round as a memorable reception and meeting facility with an adjacent 100-site campground located at 27661 Genesee Drive in Golden, Colorado.

The history at the Chief Hosa campus dates back hundreds of years, when this area was used as a protected staging area for Indians and travelers either going into or coming out from the Rocky Mountains. Thousands of arrow heads and other artifacts were collected on this site at the turn of the century. The City of Denver first purchased this land for use as a mountain park in 1913. Congress shortly thereafter passed an act allowing Denver to build a mountain park system in 1916

Designed by famous western architecht J.J. Bennett, the Chief Hosa Lodge is constructed of hand-quarried Colorado ?Rainbow? granite and lodge-pole pine, residing on the shoulders of the old Denver to San Francisco stagecoach road. The Lodge is located inside Denver?s 2,400-acre Genesee Mountain Park, located 20 minutes west of downtown Denver, I-70 exit, #253. Recently extensively restored, the 3,340 sq. ft. historic lodge was completed in 1918 and hosts up to 160 dinner guests, standing cocktail parties to 250. Facing to the west with commanding views of the Continental Divide, the lodge defines rustically elegant Colorado charm, and is the perfect place for memorable wedding receptions, peaceful executive retreats, or productive meetings a world away from twenty-first century interruptions.
