Full Description:
This 1790's Historic Register Colonial Manor House is elegantly decorated with period antiques and reproductions. It was the home of F.O.C. Darley, "America's most famous illustrator in the mid-1800's".
After sitting empty for about 10 years the house was to be sold as a commercial "lot". Plans were being made to bulldoze the old house down and put up a fast food restaurant. Community pride and the vision of Ray and Judith Hester saved this historic landmark from the wrecking ball. The Hesters purchased the house in October 1991. Extensive restoration and renovation have been done since then, and the Inn was opened to the public in 1993.
